An entertaining and humorous blend of historical satire and actual retelling, The Cheesehead Bible is a charming oddity, filled with nuggets that provoke both thought and laughter. I never imagined myself enjoying a book associated at any level with sports, but I sure did this one! It was put together in such a way that those, like my self, who are not particular fans of sports, could read the book and follow along. More specifically, I enjoyed the book for its pieces of social commentary, which were speckled throughout the book, adding to the humor and atmosphere. Even the format of the book inherently lends itself to jocular expressions of religious perceptions, which I found to be (sometimes unfortunately!) true. The art suits the text perfectly; jovial, without losing neatness or refinement. They really add to the feeling of the book, and definitely aid in the mental picture of all the Cheesehead hullabaloo. Great drawings. Playful, informative, comical, keen, and self-aware, The Cheesehead Bible is a fun read, sure to evoke laughter and the pleasant memories of Mom and Pop yelling at the T.V. screen, losing to the Packers.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Great Football Fan Stocking Stuffer By W. Maag Just finished reading The Cheesehead Bible after a friend told me about it. I'm not really a Packers fan, more of a Bears fan, but I recommend it as a fun read for anyone. I admit the author's name on the front of the book "Art Starr" got past me but I soon realized it was a play on words: a nod to Bart Starr. A real Cheesehead wouldn't have made that faux pas. It kept my interest with it's clever Biblical-writing- style, witty/original humor, light hearted satire and fantastic illustrations. I hope the author and illustrator consider writing more team "Bibles" in the future.

The approach is unusual, to say the least, and it's a fun read. Tucked in among all the tongue-in-cheek humor is a real admiration for this team and the people who support it. The many illustrations enhance the story and the humor. You can read this in one fun sitting.
