It's about the search for a daughter who was lost in a tsunami and is told from the mother's point of view. We all grieve in different ways and the parents here were no exception but it could have been explored so much more. There was some lovely writing here but it was also pretty choppy. I think it could have been smoothed out some by expanding on what exactly happened during the tsunami and the different approaches the parents took to dealing with the catastrophe. If the author ever revisits this piece, I could easily see a full length novel where the POV switches between the husband and wife. I suspect they would have very different stories to tell. I give the author some extra credit here as I have essentially outlined said novel in my head due to the unanswered questions I have. Of course, the unanswered questions also leave me frustrated.Formatting on the kindle was great.

The story takes place at the end of a three week period during which they have been hunting for their child or her body. The story is told from the view point of the mother. There is grapic description of the effects of the wave and their various efforts to have some closure. The name of the daughter is Tasmin which to me is a constant reminder of what happened. The stories of other people are related from the view point of the mother and bring the story to a climax I was provided a copy of this book to read for review.

Ahh California dreaming.. with some sexy romance thrown in By kelly I tend to read a great deal at times and the books can often times than not, blend for my tired old brain. This book still stands fresh in my mind because I loved how the author described scenery and of course foods that Cree loved. I get tired of happy endings but I didn't with this one-I really enjoyed my time while I read this. Take this book outside to a nice tree and curl up! I want more from this author-I think she can get a bit more racy-bring on the ripping of clothes!Everything is REALITY these days-I need a bit of romance for my soul...

I can relate to Cree because I'm constantly taking care of everyone else as opposed to doing what I really want. I'm so caught up in being a "caretaker" that I'm not even really sure what I want anymore. It's easy to let routine and the dark encircle you. Sometimes someone or more than one someone come along to give you hope and show you the light again, like Aunt Jilly, Ellen, and Mike in he novel. This is not just a romance novel, it's about learning to let go and to relish in the joys of life and family (and family comes in different packages, nonetheless it's still family). However, everyone deserves a happy ending with a version of Mike in their lives. I've known love and hope that someday I'll know it again. Dina Keratsis does it again!

Land of Dreams dives into the life of english professor Ellie Purnell, an impeccable middle-age woman, torn between responsibilities to her family and her longing to find the meaning of her life. Escaping from reality, she runs, she dances, she writes. Her world is turned upside down when she engages a handsome professor in a debate who seems to know more about her than she does. A wonderfully written novel about love lost and found and the meaning of being in the moment. Highly recommended read from a promising author. I look forward to what's to come! A+

Her characters are very real and relatable, as are the situations they face; struggles for growth, self awareness, and actualization. Densmore gives us a look into the lives of people we might know and then serves us surprises that, like real life, are most unexpected. A great read. I highly recommend!

While reading this book I was transported directly into the world of the main character. The writing is beautiful and E.J. Densmore knocks this out of the park as her debut novel. If you are looking to escape and read about life and love, this compelling book is for you!

A creatively busy and engaging By Books Laid Bare & Books Laid Bare Boys Again the author packs this book with more content than you could shake a stick at, there is love, hate, retribution, add all this is on top of the fact that Kiri is juggling career and family issues that are quite simply bizarre and you have a book that you cannot take your eyes off.I worried for Kiri, for the sorrow that seemed to permeate her words, the fact that after everything she had been through she still didn’t seem to be 100% happy, I’m not sure if she actually knows the meaning of the word.She revelled in her work, no matter its complexity, intensity or location but personal issues and relationships had always been her Achilles heel and now in her forties, she gave little sign that her reticence was going to change.Again the author served up a book that left nothing behind, it was cleverly embellished and intensely detailed – in some cases had maybe a little too much detail but I do like the fact that the author left nothing to chance, he left little open for interpretation and while this is not a bad thing, in my case I would have liked to us my imagination a little more, I liked the picture that the author drew, I just wanted to be able to colour it in on my own. But then again with the obvious vision he had for his characters I can imagine that it would have been difficult for him to let Kiri out of his grasp for too long.At the risk of repeating myself I would say that this is an author that has and eye for detail and a vocabulary that knows no boundaries, no subject matter is safe and all aspects of life either imaginary or creative are woven with ease through a story that will certainly hold your attention right up until the last page
