I wanted the last game in the book too.I bought it back in NOV and my book arrived yesterday , the day after the Super Bowl. I thought they were going to include the two teams from Sunday.Now I will have to buy the next book... 51 years?

I took a razor and cut out the Foreward written by that buffoon, Peter King. The book is better without his inane commentary.

While some things have changed when she gets back, some things remain the same...particularly the unrequited love one man has for her that has survived for so long. His life has been complicated too. Instead of being a history professor, Nick Prescott is now the interim police chief and father to his brother's child. So used to fending for himself while taking care of others, he can't seem to reconcile his feelings for the girl he thought long lost.But Beach Colors isn't a love story between a man and a woman, it is more a story of the journey back to life by many people in the small seaside town. The characters are all worthy of their own books and Shelley Noble writes a wonderful tale of lost hope, lost love and coming home where one belongs.

However, while she shows off her line, her husband Louis vanishes, but not before emptying all their accounts. Still reeling, Margaux takes another double shot to her gut when the bank forecloses on her Manhattan-based business and her apartment. Humiliated, despondent and feeling like an idiot, Margaux crawls back to her family's summer beach house in Crescent Cove, Connecticut where Police Chief Nick Prescott greets her with a speeding ticket.Nick a townie wanted Margaux when they were growing up but never crossed the great divide between the permanent and the summer. After a stint with the army, he came home to help his mom raise his nephew Connor. He still wants the star of his fantasies, but gave her a ticket anyway because she was thirty miles over the limit. As she enjoys the beach with Nick and Connor, Margaux works on a new line to regain her position at the top of haute couture ladder, but will soon need to decide between New York and Connecticut.This is a warm contemporary romance starring two engaging protagonists and a caring support cast (Manhattan and Connecticut) with one exception; Louis is a pathetic weasel who not only stole their savings, he visits Margaux to demand she give him more money. The enjoyable storyline focuses on love and goals as the heroine must choose between ambition to overcome her shame and her love for Nick and Connor though there is a third option if she wished for it at the grotto.Harriet Klausner

Quinn This story of a woman struggling to rebuild a life after her husband runs out on her with all of their money made for an enjoyable read for the most part. Margaux and Nick were both interesting characters for most of the book, though at the end I didn't find either of them particularly sympathetic. The book is well-written and the setting delightful. The minor players- Margaux's mom, Nick's landlady- are engaging though I felt more of their story could have been told throughout the narrative. I won't spoil the ending, but I did find the last few chapters frustrating and it altered my view of the book as a whole. A fairly enjoyable summer read, this book ultimately failed to live up to its early promise.

My instinct told me that the time was right. I went to Turkey in mid-1993 and found both adventure and love. I also predicted that my diary of my year in Turkey would form the basis for a romantic novel. It has done so. In this novel based on my diary, I am Kate, a forty-year-old teacher and loving, single mother of four sons. I have been with my Australian school for twenty years, and now I feel it is time for a break from my responsibilities as a parent. It’s time to welcome new adventures and, hopefully, romance. I jump at an offer to take a year’s leave from my school and teach in Istanbul. My diary shows how I live life to the full. As I write this novel, I can read the sequence of events that led to perhaps the most romantic, challenging, exciting, scary times in my life. And I can be eternally grateful that I did jump in and face life. At the start of my year in Turkey, two handsome, well-educated men became potential romantic interests. And then, unexpectedly, a third man came into my life.’

A Memorable Journey By Flora Morris Brown Who hasn't wanted to break from their routine and enjoy an extended stay in another country, especially with the possibility of romance in the air? Travelling along with Kate when she accepts a one-year teaching assignment in Istanbul was exciting, satisfying and sometimes scary. This well-told story kept me unsure of the ending, caring about the characters, and finally, when it ended, wanting more. Looking forward to more novels from Bradley..
