Over twenty-five years ago, Liam Tate and Acadia McCormick Knox fell in love. It was summer on Nantucket, and eighteen-year-old Liam knew that wealthy, college-bound Cadie was way out of league for a local boy who restored boats for a living. Yet the two became inseparable, seizing every chance to slip away in Liam s runabout to secluded spots, far from the world that was trying to keep them apart."

Review "There are moments of pure gold in the story that will undoubtedly touch readers' hearts. With wonderful characters and a charming idyllic setting, Nantucket does pack an emotional wallop along the lines of a good Kristan Higgins book." -- RT Book ReviewsPraise for the novels of Nan Rossiter"Nan Rossiter is at the peak of her storytelling abilities with Under a Summer Sky, which is told with the kind of compassion, grace, and wisdom that is nearly unrivaled in contemporary fiction."

I usually read a Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, or Brad Thor type book, but I was glad I took my friend's advice for a change of pace. I seem to enjoy this and other books set in Nantucket.

I have read EVERYTHING and this one was as good as the others. I love her continuity of characters, their interactions and relationships. What I love most is her message of hope. The stories are engaging with a very positive message.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Nantucket By Maryellen If I could bring Liam Tate to life and introduce him to all of my single friends, man would I be the WORLD’S BEST FRIEND! If I weren’t already blissfully married, I might try to snag Liam Tate for myself. Probably best that Liam Tate is just an awesome character in a book. When Liam was seventeen years old, he met Cadie. Cadie, short for Acadia McCormick Knox, stole Liam’s heart and then Cadie’s parents stole any chance for Liam and Cadie to be together. You see, Cadie’s family lived in a big house in upstate New York and Liam lived with his Uncle Coop on Nantucket Island. The big difference was that the folks who lived on the Island year round were looked upon as ‘not good enough’ for the wealthy visitors. At least, that’s how Cadie’s parents felt.A whirlwind teenage romance that ended when Cadie was taken from Nantucket by her furious father left Liam heartbroken. And heartbroken he stayed.Twenty-five years later Liam has a chance to find Cadie again. A lot can happen in twenty-five years. You know what I love about reading books by Nan Rossiter? There’s always a message that is ultimately uplifting. You might have to sift through some real-life issues and troubles, but there is always something that makes me think and grasp on to a phrase or a passage or something that she has taken from The Holy Bible and worked into her modern-day tale. I love that in these times of craziness in the world that Nan Rossiter can ground you with The Word. She begins her latest story with this, “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”~~Psalm 90:12.NANTUCKET is filled with characters who will pull at your heartstrings and others who will make you want to scream reminding the reader that we are all flawed in our own ways. What I always look for and always find in a Rossiter novel is the addition of a beloved pet or two. In this book we have ‘Tuck’ and ‘Moby’ and they do not disappoint. Most of the story is set in present time and the rest is set in 1989 when the love of Liam’s life walked into his world.A beautiful story that will stay with me for a long time. You’ll need a box of tissues nearby. What’s a love story without some tears?4.5 StarsA copy of this book was provided to me by the author for an unbiased review.
